(To E. A. P.)
Clever daughter of modern times
alters all through plus/minus rhymes.
Destroyer of old poets‘ hearts
dark bird who on black wings departs.
Devils dance behind your screen
those beings who we much esteem.
They dragged Diana from her car
and covered her with pitch dark tar.
No world for dryads in the trees
who sing of spring in joyous ease.
There are no elfins in the grass
good-bye, fare well, no more, alas.
