(To J.K.)
Season of mist and dark tunes
summer blazes are far gone
thick dew drops chill the grass
under bare feet across the garden
Season of mist and horizontal sun
how shall I cope with relentless freezes
with solitudes in front of chimney fires
and imponderable winter harbingers
Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness
tired summer declining into autumn
thankfulness of crops in abundance
how long to crave for the sun of spring.
