I admire the skies
that tent the earth
in manifold seasons
each in its beauty
unique singularity
I watch the plants
earthen miracles
intense exuberance
predictable, unbelievable
dying returning
I can see the birds
combine sky and earth
heaven and hell
so young in their existence
vivid unsteadiness
I float on
worlds, dreams
loom of affection
pleasantly inspiring
momentary bliss
I’m afraid
these surroundings
will before long
perceivably degrade
to mere façades
